Celebrating Jess

It's no secret that my girls are some of my most favorite people on earth.
But did you know that I consider each of their birth months amongst my favorites.
And here we are in September.
Time to celebrate Jessica Grace.

(How do the men in their lives not realize that it's a birthday week/month! and not just a day?!  Right, Christa?!)
 
First, there was a celebration with Peter and Jess trying to make it to Caps for dinner over on Vilano, but they didn't make it through the historic district, so "settled" for a dinner at the Hilton.  Sorry, no pics of this event, but I did get to keep the Little Guy for the evening :)

We had a Florida bird lesson...(you can't start too early!)

And made our way over to the neighborhood playground.   However, with the playground just yards away, Lucas wanted to spend most of his time walking down the ramp of the clubhouse and then up a step.  Over and over and over again ...

OK, back to Jess!

Her actual birthday, we snuck away for a quick lunch at Java Joint.  We being Jess, Lucas and myself....

And since we were just across A1A from the ocean, of course, that's where we headed next to spend the afternoon...

Well, the week goes on, and Christa and Robert made it out, so the Celebration continues.  First with an official birthday dinner...

....and then a late night jaunt to the Art Walk, which we missed most of due to our late arrival.  Oh well, just didn't want to leave that dinner table!

Saturday was low key, but still had quite a swinging time...

Next day, with Jess on the search of a pair of sunglasses, a Sunday afternoon trip was made to the outlet malls.  If you have never taken a camera on a shopping spree, I highly recommend it.  Always good for a laugh and capturing some sweet moments...

.....even when you are "forced" into a shot...(hey, I'm the one from Newark!  I should be the one able to pull off "deuces"!)

So, Jessica, Happy September to you!!!   I'm always up for a celebration, and when it involves you, it's even sweeter!

 

 

And, hey, it's only the 17th, the month's not over yet...

Water has many distinct properties that are critical for the proliferation of life.

All known forms of life depend on water.

Water + a one-year-old on a hot summer day = happiness.

Here's one trick I figured out...

Beauty in the World

Some moments in life happen all to infrequently.

But when they do,

oh, how sweet they are.

For instance, when

Halley's Comet makes its grand appearance,
punch-hole clouds form in the sky,
a double rainbow is glimpsed,
or
all four DiGiovanni girls are in the same state at the same time.
(Sidenote: a double rainbow was glimpsed simultaneously when all the girls were under my roof!!)

Then life is sweeter than normal.

And all of the beauty in the world is heightened.
The sky more blue.
The summer rain more refreshing.
The food more tasty. (Christa, this one's for you..lol)

It's safe to say,
there is no place in the world that I would rather be
than in the company of my girls and their men and their kids and their animals.

Listening to their mingled laughter.
Needing nothing more than a deck of cards and teaspoons for a night of entertainment.
Taking a stroll at sunset to walk the dogs.
Jumping in the pool with a 1 year old and an "almost" 13 year old.
Catching up on life since we saw each other last.
Living in the moment.
Making memories.
Experiencing beauty....
